The story of how I ended up November of 2007 going to East Africa for 10 days is fun. It started with a phone call in August asking me to come for a visit in early September – I had about three weeks to prepare! Three days later, I received another call asking me to switch it to November, a much better plan as I didn’t have current immunizations, needed to book plane tickets and ask for time off from work! I spent the next few weeks feeling like pin cushion – I was out of date on every shot possible, spending most of my American Airlines AAdvantage Miles on tickets to Nairobi, scheduling an overnight stop in London and buying a camera – my first Digital SLR, a Nikon D40 – I knew I didn’t want to take a point-and-shoot camera and come home with little dots as my only African safari photos.
The trip involved visiting a friend and his family and flying along into interesting destinations in East Africa, the subject of other posts. I also spent three days in The Masai Mara National Reserve. I’ll post more details about the reserve, camp and safari experiences in another blog post but wanted to share a few of the African safari photos – Here is the gallery page
