I enjoy aerial photography, I guess that seems obvious since I’m also a pilot. I grew up looking out airplane windows. As kids, we traveled across the country several times per year and in the days before inflight movies and I would spend a lot of time staring out the window and I still enjoy looking out and seeing what is passing by. Over the years, I have had the chance to fly to a lot of fun locations and I usually have a camera out and available as you never know what you will see. The benefit of digital photography is that storage is inexpensive and I tend to be a digital pack-rat – I get it honest from my dad, he keeps everything.
This collection contains only aerial photography shots looking out the window. Most are from the crew seats, but a few are from the back. Many are sunset shots – there is something about the interplay between the setting sun, clouds and the terrain that is just amazing and being in the air only adds a new dimension. A few of these photos are older and the quality isn’t up to modern standards, but, the view was worth sharing. Melissa took one or two of these, and I need to give credit where due. Here are a few of my favorites – if you enjoy the photos and want more, just comment and I can post additional photos. Click on the images to advance to the next. Enjoy!
